Arizona Gives Day: YEI! —Yavapai Exceptional Industries
Yavapai Exceptional Industries! (YEI!) is proud to join Arizona Gives Day Tuesday, April 4, 2017, along with thousands of nonprofits from all over the state! Through an online portal, Arizonans will be able to unite and support their favorite nonprofit(s) for exactly 24 hours of virtual giving. Sponsored by FirstBank, this day of fundraising is a community-led effort to invest in our state.
Says YEI! Executive Director Brad Newman, “Because ‘Arizona Gives’ to YEI!, 158 people each day are supported in five facilities that are completely paid off in programs of training, employment, activities, transportation, and even Summer Camp! YEI! is 43-years young and going strong because everyone pitches in!” Exceptionalism is found every day at YEI! and they were honored in October 2016 when employee Ron Aguilera received an award representing the Direct Support Professional of the Year 2016 sponsored by the Department of Economic Security (DES) in Arizona. DES awards and honors those Direct Support Professionals and Direct Support Supervisors for the exceptional work they do in providing support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Aguilera joined other recipients who were chosen for their dedication, commitment and excellence in their caregiving roles. It’s those like Ron Aguilera who embody the spirit of YEI! every single day.
From 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 supporters of Yavapai Exceptional Industries (YEI!) can go online to azgives.org to help support their local community. ROCKER ALICE COPPER ENDORSES DECISION POINT CENTER
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer Takes Part in Decision Point Ad Campaign
Phoenix, AZ – November 14, 2016 – Decision Point, a leading Arizona treatment center that assesses, diagnoses and treats drug and alcohol misuse, abuse and addiction announces that Alice Cooper has endorsed the center. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer, songwriter, heavy metal rock musician and founder of the non-profit Phoenix teen center Solid Rock knows well the challenges that families and young adults face when it comes to substance abuse and addiction. Having struggled with alcohol in the 70s and 80s, Cooper’s mission is to provide a safe place for at-risk teens through his Solid Rock program. Now, he is lending his voice to Decision Point through a fully integrated, multimedia campaign that includes radio, digital, social media and public relations.
“The work that Solid Rock is doing is extremely important,” Says Paul Auchterlonie, CEO of Decision Point Center. “We are making a donation to Solid Rock as we really believe the important work of educating and offering at-risk youth a safe environment helps them avoid the pitfalls of peer pressure, drugs and alcohol. If we at Decision Point never see kids from the Solid Rock community professionally as young adults that would be a huge win."
Decision Point is one of the few treatment centers to address complex cases in which young adults present with both failure-to-launch issues as well as substance misuse disorders. The center’s uniquely deep assessment program informs a more appropriate, personalized approach to addresses each client's unique mental and physical health, life skill, and functional acuity needs.
